Baja Field Arts Bootcamp
Your guides, Jonathan & Roseann Hanson
We are so excited you will be joining us in Baja for six days of pure immersion in field arts: nature journaling, field sketching and watercolor, animal tracking, birdwatching, reading the weather, using field optics, found pigments, and much more!
No excuses. Just pure nature journaling growth and mindset.
Below is information for planning and preparation for your bootcamp. In the next few weeks I’ll add loads more resources for you, including a suggested packing list, species lists, suggested reading, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel the Baja Field Arts Bootcamp up until midnight January 5, 2023 for a refund of your payment less a $45 fee. You may also roll over your payment to another Bootcamp.
Why do you require trip insurance for each participant?
This is to ensure you have medical evacuation coverage (nearly all the Bootcamps will be in remote locations) and that your costs are covered if we have to cancel the Bootcamp due to local emergencies such as hurricane or global health crises. If you purchase your own without going through the suggested link we provide, your policy may not cover eventualities such as natural disaster causing trip cancellation, for example.
I have checked Travel Guard and they do cover natural disasters including fires and hurricanes that cause you to be unable to occupy your destination. Quotes will vary based on your trip costs and travel costs. Please read all the details carefully! https://www.travelguard.com/buy
Does Travel Guard cover anything related to COVID? Please see their policies here (if you get COVID and have to cancel or are quarantined during a trip, there is coverage): https://www.travelguard.com/travel-news/coronavirus-advisory
Do you offer special dietary options?
Please contact us after registration with your dietary needs. We will work with you and the venue if at all possible.
Does the venue have a bar?
The hotel will, but the camp will not. We will be bringing wine and beer for happy hours.
Do you allow pets?
Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets.
Are there flights to Loreto, Baja?
Yes. Please secure your flights right away.
How do I get to the hotel?
Closer to the time of the Bootcamp we’ll get your flight information and help arrange “Trusted Taxis!”
