Winter "Skyscapito" Mini Demo

Preparing for this Friday's Skyscapito Appreciation Society meetup—we’re practicing our winter skyscapitos (“little skyscapes”) using images generously loaned to us by David Lukas and Sarah Reid.

I am working on being quicker with my skyscapitos and landscapitos so I don’t kill them with too many details. Despite working a little *too* quickly and not letting one section dry enough, I think this 10-minute watercolor sketch captures the essence of the Cascades winter drama.

Colors: Manganese Blue Hue for the blue sky, and Quinacridone Rose + Chrome Yellow for the apricot-pink. Indanthrone Blue for the mountain shadows and details, as well as for the foreground forest. All Daniel Smith.
