This is a meetup (not a workshop, much more informal sharing!) of the Skyscapito Appreciation Society!
This is our third meeting and second session on making your own Cyanometer, hosted by Bethan Burton and Kirsten Carlson, who is in Germany.
TIME: 12 noon CEST (Germany) / 8 pm Australia
In 1789 Swiss physicist Horace-Bénédict de Saussure created the “Cyanometer” using 53 tints and shades of Prussian blue to use as a meter for tracking the blue of the sky, to answer: Why is the sky blue?
We’ll make our own (not as extensive as Saussure’s) . You can check out simple instructions at https://wingswormsandwonder.com/wonder-wed-81-summer-cyanometers (Kelly Johnson); a video by Bethan Burton https://www.instagram.com/journalingwithnature/ ; or my own instructions here https://www.exploringoverland.com/constantapprentice/2021/8/10/making-a-cyanometer-to-measure-sky-moisture-through-color
Use the best blue for your area.
