Field Arts Discovery Kit
NOTES: There is a new circle protractor, it’s more flexible and less breakable, and less expensive, so new pricing reflect this! Thank you!

A special kit for making nature discoveries, with two options depending on which optics you would like:
OPTION 1 ($39.50) with a classic 21mm 30X magnification “triplet” pocket loupe plus five classic field tools (listed below)
or
OPTION 2 ($45.50) with a miniature 60X microscope with LED light plus six classic field tools (listed below)
Each kit contains the following field tools:
Mini plant press (3x5” lightweight beautiful birch with blotting sheets and three UV-resistant, strong rubber bands)—handmade by Roseann and Jonathan Hanson. If you need replacement paper, you can order from me, or use index cards. If you have “juicier” specimens, cut some thicker watercolor paper to fit. When pressing flora, space the rubber bands equally around the press, one long-ways and two short-ways. [Mini Plant Press is also sold separately, here.]
Stainless steel, bent-nose tweezers for dissecting or picking up small items to study under your optics
2-inch hand lens magnifier (with microscope option only)
Mini UV light for looking at critters at night—scorpions and other arthropods (and some mammals!) fluoresce under UV light
Clear ruler with metric (15 cm) and English (6 inches) scales
Round protractor — the Helix (in the video below) has been replaced by a more durable and less expensive option!—measure angles and draw 12+ different sizes of circles. The new one is smaller and flexible, and less prone to breakage.
9x7” zippered cotton pouch with a clip ring; customize your pouch with fabric paint, ink, or embroidery
